The Sum of All Tears is the second single off Jeykll & Jeykll''s EP "Don't Forget to Daydream". The song centres around themes of resilience, reconciling the limits of what you can know and the "truths" that stand up well in the cold light of time. It asserts that you can maximize your experiences by being more open to an appreciative attitude, one premised, perhaps, on a gratitude for existing in the first place and that for all its travails, all the good that happens in your life is essentially a bonus after that. A view that is not necessarily naive, but rather an attitude that can survive the most pessimistic interrogations because you are flooding your perspective with the kind of light you can rely on. Reasons to be cheerful, 1, 2, 3...
